Obituary of Ronald A. Martell, Sr.

Guilford - Ronald A Martell, Sr., 82, passed peacefully in his sleep on June 24, 2020, at Northern Light CA Dean Hospital in Greenville. He was born September 25, 1937, in Guilford, the son of Frederick W. Martell, Sr., and Marion (Greene) Mahoney. Dad was a proud Korean War Veteran and worked many years for Guilford Industries, now Duvaltex. He also worked as a caretaker at Riverbend Homes in Guilford, and in later years, part time for Northwoods Seafood. Dad was an excellent cook and gardener. All of us will fondly remember the french fry feasts up to camp. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 46 years, Ashlie Ann (Draper) Martell; his parents and step-parents, Elizabeth Martell and John Mahoney; and grandson, Drake Martell. He is survived by his four sons, Ronald (Rick) Martell, Jr., and his wife, Shannon Meredith, of Greenville, Randall Martell and his wife, Karen, of Guilford, Russell Martell and his wife, Janet, of Veazie, and Scott Martell of Guilford; two half-sisters, Josephine Lamar of Dexter, and Jennifer Martell of Bangor; three half-brothers, Frederick Martell, Jr. of Bridgton, Charles Martell, and Peter Martell of Guilford; ten grandchildren, Heidi, Eric, Brendan, Chelsi, Ryan, Kylie, Courtni, Camryn, Ian and Hunter; twenty great-grandchildren with another expected soon; as well as many nieces and nephews. At his request, there will be no funeral service. Private interment will be in the Lawn Cemetery in Guilford, at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the End of Life care unit of Northern Light CA Dean Hospital, PO Box 1129, Greenville 04441. The family wishes to thank the staff at Cape Memory Care in Cape Elizabeth, and the nursing staff at Northern Light CA Dean Hospital for the wonderful care dad received.
