Obituary of Frank G. Perkins

Milo- Frank G. Perkins, 84, received his final wish in life on June 21, 2016, to be with his wife of 53 years, Dawna C. Perkins. Frank was born February 13, 1932, in Milo, the son of Lloyd and Ella (Mountain) Perkins. Frank graduated from Milo High School before serving with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He started his career at the Milo Water District as a laborer and retired as the Superintendent in 1994. Frank and Dawna worked for the National Weather Service reporting the weather in Milo and he ended his career as a groundskeeper at the Evergreen Cemetery in Milo. Frank was proud to be a volunteer fireman for the Milo Fire Department, a member of the Piscataquis Masonic Lodge, and a member of the Aldworth Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. Frank was predeceased by his parents, his brother, Albert Perkins, and his sister, Bertha Larson. He is survived by his sons, Bret; Kevin and his wife, Kelly; and Scot and his wife, Emily; and his daughter, Charlotte. He was Papa to Jamie, Yuvienel, Britnee, Patrick, Robert, Carol, and Christopher, and Grand Papa to Lucy, Justice, and Ava. Frank is also survived by his sister, Hazel Williams, and her husband, Carl, and his sister-in-law, Jean Amero and her husband, Ron. He had many nieces and nephews but two very special nephews who looked up to him as a dad, Mike and Kerry Perkins. Frank’s children wish to thank the staff at Unit E at the Maine Veterans’ Home and “Little Beth” Ellison for their excellent care of Dad. You all went above and beyond in taking care of Dad and you will forever own a piece of our hearts. Friends are invited to call 1-2:30pm Monday, June 27, 2016, at the Lary Funeral Home, Milo. A graveside memorial service with masonic services and military honors will be conducted 3pm Monday, June 27, in the family lot at Evergreen Cemetery, Milo, with Pastor Michael Morris officiating.
