In his later years he owned John Giles Trucking until he retired. He was loved by the Giles and the Mayhew families his entire life and for that he was grateful. John was predeceased by his father, Johnathan Mayhew Sr., his father Wendell Giles, and his grandparents, Ida and Danville Mayhew. At his request there will be no funeral service at this time but the family plans on a celebration of life at a later date.
