Monson- Betty L. Stone, 77, wife of the late Kenneth “Mickey” Stone, Sr., passed away July 18, 2016, at C.A. Dean Memorial Hospital, Greenville. She was born March 19, 1939, in Monson, the daughter of Edmund E. and Eleanor L. (Blethen) Degerstrom. Betty enjoyed cooking, sewing, her dogs and cats, and spending time with extended family. Some of Betty’s favorite memories were babysitting her great niece, Amanda Moores. Above all Betty appreciated her time spent with her grandchildren as they were her sun, moon, and stars. She was a very involved member of the Monson Community Church. Betty is survived by her son, Kenneth M. Stone, Jr. and his wife, Deirdre; two grandchildren, Maddelynne and Malcolm Stone; brother, Adolph Matteson; two sisters, Helen Lunt and Hazel Richards; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Phillip Blethen, and two sisters, Margaret Weckhorst and Gloria Leighton. A memorial service will be held 1PM Saturday, July 23, 2016, at the Monson Community Church, with Pastor David Ray, Jr. officiating.
