Obituary of Candron "Candy" Jean (Wiley) Poulin

Hermon – Candron “Candy” Jean (Wiley) Poulin, passed away April 30, 2021, at home after a long illness. She was born October 24, 1946, in Dexter, the daughter of Clair Albert Wiley and Gertrude (Priest) Wiley. Candy attended Dexter schools and graduated from Dexter High School, Class of 1965. After graduation she worked as an office assistant to Hatch Insurance in Dexter and also on the State Bookmobile. Candy loved books and liked to read, as many as she could. She met her future husband, Mathias “Ty” Poulin, in August 1964, while he was visiting his relatives after graduating from college in San Antonio, Texas. Ty returned to San Antonio but they kept in touch until he came back for her graduation in 1965. They were engaged on Valentine’s Day in 1966 and were married December 17, 1966. Ty and Candy moved to the Bangor area. Candy worked at the Bangor Y.M.C.A. in the office. She then went to work at Prudential Insurance in Bangor as assistant to the district manager for 28 years. Candy then worked at Hermon High School as assistant to the principal. After that she worked as office manager at Huntley Oil in Hampden. She loved sewing, making primitive dolls, growing flowers, and her family. Candy is survived by her husband of 54 years, Mathias “Ty” C. Poulin; daughter, Emily Poulin Rose of Weirton, WV; grandchildren, Cassandra and Morgan Rose; mother, Gertrude Wiley; brothers, Brian Wiley and his wife, Martha, and Leigh Wiley and his wife, Edie Vose; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father; in-laws, Mathias J. and Margaret Poulin; and sister-in-law, Margaret J. Curtis. A graveside funeral service will be held 10AM Friday, May 7, 2021, at the family lot in Townhouse Cemetery, Sangerville, with Pastor Ray Beless. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mt. Hope Avenue, Bangor, ME 04401, or to the Waterville Humane Society, 100 Webb Road, Waterville, ME 04901.
