As the Founder of the Seaplane Pilots Association I came to Greenville to meet Duane in the 70's ?? He and Chip Taylor and about five more met to start what is know the seaplane event of the year: The Greenville Intl Seaplane Fly-In. Duane was the take charge man of the fly in... After many years of attending the Fly-In Duane became not just a friend, but great a friend. Duane and I talked about two weeks ago, Duane wanted to celebrate the 50th year of the Fly-In, two years from now.
I told Duane that I would help and that I planned to be at the Fly-In this year.
He called me many time to tell me that he had a friend in South Dakota and wanted to know far of a drive it was from to my place... My house was open for him any time, but he never did go to South Dakota..
I was looking forwards to seeing Duane this fall!!! now my heart is Heavy. I still want to come to Greenville this fall to meet his family..
