Obituary of Paul T. Croteau
Sangerville – Paul T. Croteau passed away July 6, 2021, with his wife at his side, in Boston at Massachusetts General Hospital. He was born Jan 15, 1952, in Lewiston, ME, the son of Augustin and Therese (Vachon) Croteau.
Paul proudly served in the U.S. Army, 1st BN, 30th Infantry, as a Sergeant. He retired from the U.S. Post Office Rural Letter Carriers after more than 25 years of service.
He was an Eagle Boy Scout, enjoyed all outdoor activities, was an avid gardener, and could be seen most days with his companion, Shadow (GS dog) outside his home in Sangerville.
Paul will be missed for the many stories he told family and friends about numerous hunting and fishing trips, and his time in the Army.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Jayne (Goff) Croteau and their son, Thomas A. Croteau.
He is survived by his wife, Jill (Leonard) Croteau; three sisters, Claire Hackett, Rachel Anderson, and Louise Howaniec; two brothers, Marc Croteau and his wife, Judy, and Bruce Croteau; a sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Rick McCormick; an aunt and uncle; and many nieces, nephews, special cousins, step-children and grandchildren.
No service will be held per Paul’s request. A remembrance gathering will be held for family and close friends at a later date. Consideration of donations may be sent to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, PO Box 7410354, Chicago, IL 60674-0354.
