Obituary of Karen Annette (Burns) Cole

Dover-Foxcroft - Karen Annette Cole, 68, died on January 15, 2022, at her daughter's home in North Waterboro with loving family by her side. She was born in Belfast, Maine on March 23, 1953, a daughter of Paul and Winifred (Carter) Burns. She was a 1971 graduate of Foxcroft Academy in Dover-Foxcroft. She went on to attend Thomas College for a short time and was a graduate of Pierre's School of Cosmetology. Karen was a hard worker her entire life. She worked for several Hannaford Grocery Stores over the years. She enjoyed country music, line dancing and spending time at Sebec Lake. Above all she loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She was predeceased by her father, Paul Burns; her stepfather; Malcolm Macomber; her brother, Thomas Burns; and her sister, Susan Leathers. Surviving are her mother, Winifred Gammon of Englewood, FL.; her son, Derek J. Cole and wife, Stacie, of Parkman, ME.; her daughter, Allison Shea of North Waterboro; and 3 grandchildren, Alexis, Kaileigh and Heston. A graveside committal will be held at sunset on the full moon, 8PM Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at the family lot in the Gray Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft.
