Bill and I had a love for history, especially local history. Bill was "Mr. Brownville" and could tell about every great basketball player and team in Maine. His dedication to Brownville will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. Rest easy, Bill.

Bill wanted to learn to play the piano -- especially to learn to play Snow Bird, a favorite of his that Ann Murray sang. For several months he came to learn the basics of playing and seemed to enjoy the lessons. He was interesting to talk with and I have many of the local history books he wrote. May he rest in peace.

Sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. He was certainly a unique individual who loved his community. It was nice that he spent so much time documenting local sports figures , events, and interesting places of community interest .
I was always proud that I made up a chapter in one of his books . He would call me every once in awhile to talk about the old days :)
Rest Easy Bill

My heartfelt condolences to the family . I will always remember Bill , as our French tutor. It was quite comical to me and my siblings , with him trying to maintain his level of patience with me, as I just couldn’t get a grasp on learning .. I was kindly removed from the tutoring session. Haha! While my other siblings participated. He was incredibly smart , knew a lot about a lot , he is and always will be a staple to this community . Rest easy Bill .
